    Why Trek with us?

    Quality:

To us, quality entails not only luxury but also a sense of social connection. This link is guaranteed by us. The Everest Base Camp-Gokyo Trek has been devised so that we not only hike the trek but also build memories with ourselves and the people. We’ll meet new people, take pictures, share food, and settle in.

More than the walking we’ll be undertaking on this trek, the stories of Sherpa, the honesty of the monks at the monasteries, and the purity of the kids playing in the cold streets will elevate our spirits.

    Giving back to the community:

Elite Explorer is a product of the Nepalese communities that directly or indirectly contribute to the trekking industry of this country gifted with elite mountains. We are not just travelers or trekkers but explorers who intend to give back something – even if it’s the very least of any form of contributions to the settlements, villages, and trails we walk past on our journey of the Everest Base Camp-Gokyo Trek

We will volunteer or manage a team that can help monks at Namche learn English for this trek. We may even join our team to help us teach. Likewise, we will help clean the nearby places at Namche Bazaar and donate some first aid kits to the medical clinics, stationery items and books to students at schools there, and food items to the locals throughout the trail.

We will also record the unheard tales about Everest and the culture that flows there as we believe that the Everest region shouldn’t just be commercialized through its mountains, but also the locals and their stories that have been staying there for years.

    1. Day 01 Arrival

As you fly into Kathmandu, you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the city, the Himalayas, and the terraced farms below. A representative will greet you after clearing customs and assist you in settling into your hotel by leading you through the cultural shock of Kathmandu’s narrow, twisting streets.

With a variety of cafes providing both Western and indigenous Nepali food, Thamel, the tourist hub, is a good place to enjoy your first supper in the evening.

    2. Day 02 Explore Kathmandu and trek preparation

If we like, we will visit several neighboring temples early in the morning, such as Vikramshila Mahavihara Temple and Tridevi Temple, and spend some time there. We’ll return to the hotel and eat breakfast after that. We’ll meet in a hall and go through the details of our expedition, which will begin on another day. Our specialists will assist you in preparing for the journey, and we will hold a storytelling session during which our professionals and previous clients will discuss their Everest View Trek experiences. As soon as we finish them, we’ll go shopping in Thamel and Ason, eat some MoMo or Newar snacks, and return to the hotel.

    3. Day 03 Flight to Lukla, 40 mins; Trek to Phakding, 3 hours

Today, we will take an exhilarating flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m). We’ll land on the runway at Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla, one of the world’s most challenging airports, in 40 minutes. From there, we’ll begin our journey to Phakding.

We’ll descend to the Dudh Koshi River and connect with the Namche Bazaar path. After walking across the little Ghat (2550m) area, we’ll soon arrive in Phakding.

    4. Day 04 Trek to Namche Bazar, 6-7 hours

We’ll hike to Namche Bazaar, Nepal’s largest Sherpa village, today. Our trail takes us across the Dudhkoshi River on a massive suspension bridge, then through a beautiful pine forest to Monjo, some two hours away. We’ll soon arrive at the Sagarmatha National Park entrance for a fast permission check before descending to the Dudh Kosi River and seeing Mani stones along the way to Jorsale. We’ll take an upper route to Namche. The Hillary Suspension Bridge is one of two river bridges that surround us as we walk down the riverbank. It’ll be a long climb up the hill to our resting place, but in Namche Bazaar, we’ll be rewarded with our first glimpse of Everest in all its majesty.

    5. Day 05 Namche Acclimatization

Acclimatize to the thin air as we will be embarking to Tengboche the next day. Alternatively, you can hike up to Everest View Hotel for a couple of hours as you will gain 400 meters on the day. It will help you for the next day’s trek. This a hike not to be missed for one of the best views of Mt.Everest.

    6. Day 06 Namche- Tengboche (3860m)

Following breakfast, we will continue our Everest Base Camp Trek with an incredible ascent with breathtaking views of massive mountains and deep valleys. Before we go, forget about the comfort of our bed and head outdoors to witness a once-in-a-lifetime sunrise above Ama Dablam Mountain. It will be a memorable occasion to remember for the rest of our life. Following the daybreak, we descend the Imja River and follow a trail to Dingboche, a high-altitude Sherpa village.

From the river, we take a lovely journey with mountain vistas and beautiful scenery to Pangboche village. The community is located at an elevation of 3900 meters, in a dramatic setting with beautiful mountain views in the background. We continue going to the hamlets of Dingboche, taking in the vistas of massive mountains such as Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse, and others. The trails to Dingboche are guarded by mani walls, prayer flags, prayer wheels, agriculture fields, and yak herder villages.

Summer Valley is the name given to Dingboche. we’ll observe yaks grazing in the big meadow as we approach it. we may feel the impact of thin air at a high altitude as we approach Dingboche at 4,410 meters. Calm down and drink a lot of water. Maintain a constant level of hydration. Our guide will use an oximeter to assess our oxygen level and determine if we are fit to trek. If that doesn’t work, our guide will offer us some drugs to prevent altitude sickness.

    7. Day 07 Tengboche- Trek to Dingboche (4410m)

If that doesn’t work, our guide will offer us some drugs to prevent altitude sickness

    8. Day 08 Dingboche acclimatization

Today is an acclimatization day, which allows our bodies to acclimate to a higher altitude. The mountain views from Dingboche, the only spot in the district where barley is produced, are spectacular. Hiking up the Imja Khola to Chhukung, a small summer town with views of Island Peak (6,189 meters), Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and the fluted ice walls bordering the Amphu Lapcha pass, is a popular option for the fit.

    9. Day 09 Dingboche- Lobuche (4900m), 5 hrs

After breakfast, we will climb to Lobuche, which is located at an elevation of 4910 meters. To arrive at Dughla, we first travel a trail that runs between two large valleys. We arrived in Lobuche after going through some yak fields. The trails are now barren and covered in snow. we’ve made it above the tree line. As a result, we will notice the lack of trees and green slopes. Snow and stark hills are all we can see. Here in Lobuche, there are no permanent Sherpa villages. We will be surrounded by stunning views of towering mountains immediately outside the Tea Houses.

    10. Day 10 Lobuche-Gorakshep (5184m), 3-4 hrs; to Everest Base Camp (5300m), 3-4 hrs

We leave early in the morning for Gorakshep, which is located at a height of 5181 meters. In addition, the area is sparsely populated, with only a few guest houses open during hiking seasons. When we arrive in Gorakshep, the guide will take us to a guest house where we can store our luggage. We can choose to leave our heavy gear at a guest’s home when we return to Gorak Shep for the night. We then proceed to Everest Base Camp. It’s a proud time for everyone. It’s been a week since we’ve been counting down the days before the big day arrives.

At 4900 meters, we climb through the Khumbu Glacier, the world’s tallest glacier. The glacier is 12 kilometers long and has a lunar form. We will have the time of our life as we walk among the ice formations and small pools of water. We will soon arrive at Everest Base Camp, the trek’s last objective.

Mt. Everest is hidden between Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Nuptse, therefore it is not visible from the base camp. We return to Gorak Shep after collecting memories along the expedition trails, the Sagarmatha expedition group’s encampment, and the Khumbu icefall. We will spend a warm and comfortable night’s sleep tonight. Mt. Everest will be visible to the naked eye tomorrow.

    11. Day 11 Gorakshep- Kalapathar Pheriche (4270m), 7 hours

Mt. Everest will be visible to the naked eye for the first time today. It’s the second most anticipated day of our EBC adventure. So, get up before the sun and drive to Kalapatthar, which is located at 5545 meters. It’s the pinnacle of our trekking adventure. We’ll soon arrive at the highest vantage point. we will forget about our problems as the sun shines through the highest mountain.

We capture the golden rays of the sun falling over Mt. Everest’s sparkling snow, as well as other towering peaks in the range, from Kalapatthar. We will find ourselves at the foot of the world’s most gorgeous mountains. We then returned to Gorak Shep on foot. We will begin our descent to Pheriche after breakfast.

    12. Day 12 Trek to Gokyo (4790m), 6 hours

We begin by crossing the Chola Pass, then continue over the flat path following the Dudh Koshi River. We will begin ascending sharply to the Ngozamba glacier. After crossing an iron bridge, the trail levels off and leads to the first lake, Longpongo, then Taboche Tso, Dudh Pokhari, and finally Gokyo lake and hamlet.

    13. Day 13 Hike up Gokyo Ri (5360m), 1 hour

We’ll begin by climbing steeply above Gokyo Lake; the trek to Gokyo Ri is difficult, but the views from the summit make it all worthwhile. We can see all of the neighboring mountains, with Everest looming over them, from here. We’ll return to Gokyo for lunch and then have a walk around the lake in the afternoon, possibly even going farther to see the fourth and fifth Gokyo lakes if we’re feeling adventurous, before returning to Gokyo for the night.

    14. Day 14 Descend to Thare (4300m), 5-6 hours

When we leave the Gokyo region, we’ll retrace our steps down the valley, pass the Ngozamba glacier’s moraine, and then proceed south down the other side of the Dudh Kosi valley, via alpine pastures and settlements, until we reach Thare.

    15. Day 15 Descend to Pangboche (3930m), 5-6 hours

Thore is a community located about half an hour outside of Thare. From there, it’s a steady decline for the rest of the day until we reach the charming village of Phorste. It’s a lovely ride that takes us past waterfalls and ice caves and involves a lot of lowering and hiking before we arrive at Pangboche.

    16. Day 16 Descend to Namche Bazar, 2-3 hours

A more leisurely day, with a stop at Tengboche, to see the monastery before continuing to Namche Bazar. We can simply rest or visit neighboring places once we arrive. We might even join us at our service camps, where we’ll be handing out first-aid kits, knowledge, stationery, and books. We can also go to various monasteries and speak with monks about Buddhism and spirituality.

    17. Day 17 Travel to Lukla, 1-2 hours

Another hard day following the Dudh Kosi river through the valley on the way back to Lukla. The trail descends and ascends, culminating in a climb through the forest, past settlements, and into Lukla, where we may rest our feet.

    18. Day 18 Return to Kathmandu

We’ll board an early morning flight to Kathmandu after breakfast. The 40-minute flight gives us another overhead view of the high mountains and verdant hills before we land in Kathmandu.

Our team will meet us at the airport in Kathmandu and transport us to our hotel. You can rest and refresh in the hotel once you arrive in Kathmandu. We’ll take you on a tour of Thamel’s beautiful streets in the evening before saying our goodbyes over a fantastic lunch.

    19. Day 19 Departure

We’ll say our goodbyes today. Three hours before our scheduled flight, we will drop you off at the airport. Before that, we’ll give you some of our stuff and a few symbols of our affection to commemorate the moments we’ve shared from the dawn of time. We shall, however, look forward to meeting each other again.

How many hours do we trek each day?

We will trek for six hours on average, but depending on the region you trek in, you might go for nine hours straight, including breaks for meals.

What transportation will it be to the trekking starting point?

Depending on the trekking region, either private transportation or air travel will be used.

Can I leave the things behind before heading for trekking?

Yes, we’ll tag your bag and keep it at your accommodation until you get back. Likewise, you should travel as lightly as possible when trekking.

Is it very cold in Kathmandu on my arrival?

There are four seasons and 300 days of sunshine in Nepal. As a result, Kathmandu’s lowest recorded temperature is -3 degrees Celsius, or 26.6 degrees Fahrenheit. However, while trekking, the temperature may drop to -13 degrees Fahrenheit or -25 degrees Celsius. For more details on what to pack and bring please contact your dedicated travel consultant or you can also contact us via E-mail.

Do I need to be extra careful of altitude sickness?

Our itineraries are made to give you plenty of time for acclimatization, reducing the likelihood that you will have altitude sickness. Every evening before or after dinner, our extremely knowledgeable guide will give us a briefing for the following day’s trekking, including instructions to prevent altitude sickness over 3500 meters. You must notify our guide right away if you have shortness of breath, headache, exhaustion, nausea, vomiting, a rapid heartbeat, or insomnia since altitude sickness can be fatal.

How many kg of bag pack am I allowed to carry?

The greatest option is usually to trek light. The best-recommended backpack weight is 10 kg for trekking bags and 5 kg for carry-on luggage because one must also include basics. (It also serves as the flight to Lukla’s weight restriction.)

Will there be a porter to carry my bag pack apart from the guide?

Yes, a porter will assist you in carrying the trekking backpack packs.

Can you tell me about the food in the mountains?

Most of the food is freshly prepared, but meats may have been stored for a while. Freshly prepared Daal and Bhat, a staple of traditional Nepali cuisine, are the finest.

How basic are tea houses, can I shower every day?

A basic bed, private or shared bathrooms, cold water in the absence of electricity or sunlight, charging the wifi battery, and the absence of a room heater. This is how simple tea houses seem. Further, during the cold winter, the water freezes in the pipe leaving no running water. As mentioned earlier, having a hot shower (or bucket full of hot water)  is feasible in most tea houses, however, if unfavorable circumstances like an electricity cut-off occur, you may have to wait to take a hot shower.

Is there wifi or cellular signals in the mountains?

In the tea houses along the trails, there is wifi, however, the signal strength and speed may not be as advertised. On request, Team Elite Explorer will provide you with a local sim card for data subscription.

How about power, will there be charging points?

There will, in fact, be charging ports. Be considerate when charging your electronics as tea houses provide shelter for other hikers as well.

In case of medical issues, how will I get assistance?

Our guide will evaluate the case according to its seriousness, seek advice from the office as necessary, and then decide on the spot whether to transport the patient to the nearest medical facilities or call for help. When trekking in Nepal, kindly make sure to have comprehensive travel medical insurance.

Can 3 years and 80 plus age trek in the mountains?

Every age group can find the ideal trekking trails in Nepal. So every one of any age can hike in the mountains. When working with infants and the elderly, we take extra precautions both in the planning of the itineraries and on the ground.

Lastly, how fit should I be for trekking?

For the trek, you need to be both physically and mentally prepared. The outcome of your adventure entirely rests on you. We advise selecting the trekking routes based on your degree of fitness. There is little doubt that shorter routes are simpler than longer ones. A higher level of fitness will be needed for the longer treks. So, try to be in top physical shape.
